I recorded this yesterday. Its based on the Bireli Lagrene and Sylvain Luc duet version:
I was happy with how I played it but the sound recording was not good so i put it in Ableton and added reverb. I had to convert a m4a audio into a wav to do it. I was a few milliseconds out and there is a lag in the video but next time I will not trim the track first.
Posting to Instagram and hoping for Patron clicks is not going well at all. I got the Instagram dashboard and most people are scrolling by but the reel shows a number but it is just what YouTube would call an "impression" in that it was seen but not looked at. The main problem with Instagram is that it is not a search engine in the same way that YouTube and Google is. The reels do not get promoted and just sit there after a few days. Patreon needs a real fan base too not just a YouTube subscriber that may convert over - they don't know who you are.
I see a lot of people falling for the Instagram reel numbers and concept of popularity based on number of subscribers etc but the real feedback is that you need say 25k to 100k subscribers and a real fan base before people will spend money on you. I know all this from watching "Shark Tank" , it is known as "customer acquisition cost" and here I am seeing it in real time.
In short YouTube is the best money making option via adverts at the lower levels of online guitar. 1000 subscribers and 4000 Hours of watch time gets the paid adverts.
I theorise that I need about 240 videos and this will then allow me to make about $400 a year.
I am improving workflow in recording so I can record the video quickly. The editing and putting of chords on takes a lot of time, in all its about 2 hours per video. Then the video sits for 3 months before it gets a push. Its a waiting game for sure.
